17 year old fears death as she refuses to change religion In a Police Report dated March 24, 2018 at Area M. Idimu divisional Police Headquarters, a 17 year old girl identified as Miss Favour Olabimpe Olaniran was ill-treated and starved for days for refusal to become change religion from Christianity to Islam by her step-mother Monsurat Olaniran a devoted and high rank Muslim. The police in their report said Miss Favour lost her mother to cancer when her father Mr Isaac Ishola Olaniran got married to Monsurat a Muslim.
The report by the police, also confirmed after much investigation that Miss Favour was forced by her step-mother to change her religion from being christian to a Muslim and upon refusal, Miss Favour was ill-treated, threatened and starved for days. Miss Favour while speaking to Our correspondent stated that her life will be in grave danger if she remains in Nigeria. This she said in her report to the police.
This is one of several cases in Nigerians on the run for their lives for refusal to become muslims to avert the danger of setting-up and most times death..
The unfortunate part of this kind of cases is that the Buhari led government has empowered the Islamic Sheria law Soo much that the Police are now sentimental in doing their jobs and give alot of preferences to the Muslims in such cases thereby, lots of innocent lives have been lost in the process..
We hereby urge the Police to do their work and not allow this to be another lost case as there as many many cases of bias and incompetence in the Nigerian Police force when it deals with proselytism in Nigeria
