Entertainment Weekly released new photos from the upcoming anti-hero film on Thursday. The film features an all-star cast including Will Smith (Deadshot), Jared Leto (The Joker), Margot Robbie(Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Cara Delevingne (June Moone/Enchantress) and more.
One photo features Robbie behind bars, reading a book and prepared to sip from a tiny cup, pinky out. Another shows Leto’s menacing profile. Other photos include Karen Fukuhara (Katana), Common (Monster T), and Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang).
The film follows the events of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” in which Waller instills the help of the felonious Suicide Squad. After the highly-anticipated “Dawn of Justice” proved to be a commercial and critical flop earlier this year, “Suicide Squad” hopes to exceed expectations. A sequel has already been planned, with principal photography scheduled for 2017.
“Suicide Squad” is scheduled for a worldwide release Aug. 5.
