Falcons finally qualify for the next round of the on-going FIFA women’s world cup.. As at the beginning of the day, there were two slots left to be filled by two best losers which the falcons were hoping the results of the other matches would favor them.. Cameroon spring up a great surprise with a last minute magical goal to edge New Zealand 2 goals to 1 which made the Falcons chance more slimmer.
The final game of the day was between Chile and Thailand , a team that has conceded 18 goals already in the tournament.. Chile just needed 3 unreplied goals to progress at the expense of the Falcons . Chile was leading 2-0 and later got a penalty but they couldn’t convert.. So, Congratulations to Nigeria and the Super Falcons as they progress to the next round of the competition.
