KonsciousKruize is a mobile community of thought, consciously finding solutions to our numerous living situations through discussions and brainstorming in different neighborhoods.
WHY KK?
Preceeded by the show of national unity during the OCT 2020 #Endsars Protest, where every well-meaning citizen bridged religious and ethnic divide, It became apparent that there was a need to harness our togetherness and create a free-thinking community, capable of proferring solutions to our existential and social problems.
Not too long after, the idea was birthed by Chief Olanrewaju Ogunmefun (Vector) and friends, In partnership with Seun Anikulapo-Kuti’s Naija Resistance Movement (NRM), out of the need to consciously apply the importance and value of our self-knowledge to our daily lives as a people.
The idea embraced, the mission defined from the onset: making the gathering public, open to one and all (every Nigerian); documenting each session. The expectation was that our analysis, would help form the basis of societal solutions.
THE EXPEDITION
Since we began, there has been three editions of Konscious Kruize. The first edition of KK was held on the 13th of December 2020 at Isheri-Magodo, addressing the subject ‘WHO WE ARE: our essence as conscious beings, and our purpose as free thinkers’. January 2021, the second edition took place at 1504 Restaurant, Victoria Island, Lagos, where we discussed ‘THE COMMON DENOMINATOR IN OUR CO-EXISTENCE.
The most recent edition, was held on the 26th of June 2021, at Prest Cruise Waterfront Hotel, Lekki. The topic ‘UNITY’ was discussed. With a collective objectivity that affirmed to every attendant that unity isn’t just a word to be read passively on paper, but a concept that should be practiced, actively, by every well-meaning citizen of the country. All tribes are one—equal, our fate—intertwined, our home—Nigeria.
WHAT NEXT?
As KK is an initiative rooted in the strive for communal change, we welcome invitations from different communities. Ultimately, the vision is to connect consciousness without the limitations of boundaries, towards building a community of liberated minds, passionate about effecting the change they want to see.
The time and place for the next Konscious Kruize would be made public soon. Other projects to be launched are ‘KonsciousKruize Home Base’ and ‘KonsciousKruize Podcast’. KK is striding, don’t be an onlooker!
