A 21-year-old student of the Federal College of Education in Plateau, Nenfort Ezekiel, was found dead in her room on Monday by curious neighbours trying to find out if she was okay, after she wasn’t spotted out for classes as usual. Nenfort’s door was forced open when she didn’t respond to greetings, and it was her lifeless body that was found.
Tyopev Terna, the Plateau Police Command’s PRO, confirmed the incident. Police, on arrival at the scene after the case was reported, rushed the girl to Pankshin General Hospital where doctors examined and confirmed her dead.
However, the hospital was said to have indicated in a report that the late student attempted to abort a pregnancy, which probably resulted to her death. Investigations have now commenced into finding who might have been responsible for the girl’s pregnancy, while her corpse has since been taken by her family members for burial.
