It’s been a while since Blindspot started on a cold open that seemingly has nothing to do with the main cast of characters. I don’t know if it’s because there’s been so much Sandstorm craziness to focus on or if the show just avoids non-essential cold opens because it’s a little too procedural, but either way, it’s added a throughline to this season, showing that the focus from one episode to the next is Sandstorm. “Senile Lines” is the first mysterious cold open in awhile, as a girl named Amber, seemingly living in a foster home, jumps out of a window and kills herself — again, seemingly — after a confrontation with a boy named Eli.
