Clary should know better than to have made a deal blindly. After the events on Shadowhunters Season 2 Episode 9, I don’t think she ever will. It nearly killed her and hurt everyone.
“Bound by Blood” played on the theme of curses and forced motivations.
I liked that these characters, while flawed but genuinely nice people, had a looming threat forcing their choices. More often than not it was for a bad reason. They had no choice but to come to a decision.
Clary going through the blood oath put everything into perspective for her. Life and death aren’t so simple. And her life impacts everyone if she touches the sword.
I loved the subtle coincidence of the curse starting to affect her hand. It was a great reminder of the dangerous power she holds. She could destroy worlds with a single touch.
