Episode info:
If you really needed a heavy dose of action on Into the Badlands, we like to think that season 3 episode 7 brought that to you and then some.
Not only that, but it also featured one of the most badass sequences we’ve seen to date from The Widow. Right when you think that she is utterly outnumbered and screwed over, she finds her way back. The entire mutiny scene was all sorts of awesome, in between the swords flying and the slow-motion action that really does define Into the Badlands in a way that very few other shows out there can possibly replicate.
Oh, and go ahead and add this to precisely what we saw in the scenes with Sunny and the River King near the end of the episode as well. Things started off here in a way that was relatively simple, with Sunny doing everything in his power to get some more information on the Pilgrim’s whereabouts. However, what we learned through this episode was that as thoughts went along, there were more and more people desperate to seek him out.
The people Sunny encountered were those from the Black Lotus, and per the River King’s own warnings, it doesn’t seem as though they are ever going to stop hunting him down now. That’s a problem, but the good news here is that Sunny and Bajie are going to be arriving at the Pilgrim’s fortress sooner rather than later. They are already close to achieving some of their goals … or at least part of them. Bajie was still down to reuniting with his ex-wife Lily, but she wasn’t altogether down for it at the end of the day. She really doesn’t need to be back with him, largely due to the fact that she’s got her own goals now — is she now the River Queen? It certainly feels like it could be that way.
