Arsenal lock horns with 2015-16 champions Leicester on the opening day as they look to put together a strong campaign on the back of a difficult 2016/-7 term.

Wenger’s outfit travel to Liverpool – the side who pipped them to fourth place on the final day of last season – on matchday three, while a trip to champions Chelsea await them on matchday five.

Three of Arsenal’s first five games will be played on the road, travelling to Stoke City on matchday two, while they will finish the season away at newly promoted Huddersfield Town on May 13.

Arsenal have often struggled across November in previous campaigns and they may have their work cut out again in 2017-18, with games against Manchester City and Tottenham back-to-back this time around.

They travel to City on November 4 before hosting Tottenham 14 days later, while their away trip to Spurs has been pencilled in for February 10.

Arsenal will compete in the Europa League in 2017-18 after finishing fifth last time out and they will be away after five of their six group stage games, in what will be a real test for Wenger’s charges.

Wenger, though, has only lost four times on the opening day of a new season, winning 11 and drawing five of his 20 fixtures.

And the Frenchman will be hoping to extend that run against Leicester, who will be under the guidance of Craig Shakespeare after he was appointed as manager on a permanent basis.

Arsenal play host to old foes Manchester United at the Emirates on December 2 before heading to Old Trafford on April 28.
