Crystal Palace want £100m for Zaha’

As reported by Jason Burt, Crystal Palace have rejected Everton’s new offer for Wilfried Zaha. And now The Guardian is reporting that Palace will not accept anything less then £100 million this close to deadline day!!

Spurs are one of the clubs approached over the possibility of signing Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona, while talks have taken place over Juventus forward Paolo Dybala. Deals for either Coutinho or Dybala would be difficult but not impossible to complete at this late stage.

Tottenham also remain in talks to sign Fulham teenager Ryan Sessegnon, with Josh Onomah lined up for a move in the opposite direction.

Everton bid for Iwobi rejected

Arsenal have rejected a bid from Everton for their forward Alex Iwobi, reports Sam Dean. Everton are in the market for a winger this summer and have been pushing to sign Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.

It is believed that an offer worth up to £30m was tabled for Iwobi, who made 51 first-team appearances under Unai Emery last season.

Philippe Coutinho celebrates scoring

Tottenham have held talks with Atletico Madrid over the sale of Christian Eriksen, reveals Jason Burt.

Manchester United have backed away from making an offer for Eriksen and called a halt to talks in the belief that he had his sights set elsewhere.

Spurs’ discussions with Atletico over Eriksen initially took place during the Spanish club’s successful negotiations to sign Kieran Trippier.

There is now an expectation in Spain that Atletico may revive their interest once the transfer window closes in England at 5pm tomorrow.

DONE DEAL!

Manchester City have announced the signing of South Korean international striker Lee Geum-min.

No confirmation yet on Joao Cancelo, but it appears this move is just awaiting the finishing touches and should be done with plenty of time to spare. The Juventus defender will head to the Premier League for a reported £27 million, with Danilo going the other way.

Everton not giving up on Zaha

Wilfried Zaha

In case you missed it, here’s Jason Burt on the Wilfried Zaha-to-Everton rumours.

Everton will push to sign Zaha from Crystal Palace right up until tomorrow’s 5pm transfer deadline despite appearing to have a second, improved bid rejected.

At the same time Everton have also had another bid for Abdoulaye Doucoure turned down by Watford, who have told their Premier League rivals they are wasting their time and the midfielder will not be sold at any price this late into the window.

Jenkinson to Forest

This just in from Sam Dean. Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Arsenal full-back Carl Jenkinson for a fee of £2 million.

Jenkinson, 27, made 70 appearances for Arsenal after joining the club in 2011. He has not been part of Unai Emery’s first-team plans, though, and he made just three appearances in the Premier League last season.

Arsenal have a sell-on clause if Jenkinson were to be transferred again.

Have Arsenal found their centre-back?

With the earlier news that Arsenal have NOT made a bid for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, the question became: who are they bringing in?

Well, it is looking increasingly likely that it could be Juventus’ Daniele Rugani.

According to Sportitalia, a deal has been agreed with the 25 year-old regarding wages, now they just need to come to an arrangement with Juve. Reports in Italy suggest it could be a loan deal with the eventual cost reaching £36 million (€40m).

Arsenal yet to bid for Upamecano

Dayot Upamecano battles for the ball

Arsenal made an enquiry over RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano at the start of the transfer window but have yet to make a bid, reveals Jason Burt.

There is no expectation at the Bundesliga club that a formal offer for the 20 year-old will be made even though Arsenal remain in the market for another central defender.

There have been suggestions that fresh talks over the France Under-21 international had taken place but that is not understood to be the case.

Reports in Germany claimed that an offer of £55 million had been rejected by RB Leipzig but, again, this is refuted.
