Battleground (2016) is an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view event and WWE Network event produced by WWE. It will be taking place on July 24, 2016 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.. It will be the fourth event under the Battleground chronology, and the final event before the newly reinstated WWE brand extension goes into full effect.
After Randy Orton was scheduled to face Brock Lesnar for SummerSlam, he was announced as the guest of a special episode of The Highlight Reel, hosted by Chris Jericho at Battleground.

Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins – Triple threat match for the WWE Championship.
Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens – Singles Match.
John Cena, Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. The Club (AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) – Six man tag team match
Becky Lynch vs Natalya – Singles match
The Miz (c) vs. Darren Young – Singles match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
Rusev (c) vs. Zack Ryder – Singles match for the WWE United States Championship
The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) vs. The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman) – Six-man tag team match
Sasha Banks and Mystery Partner vs. Charlotte and Dana Brooke – Tag team match
